Analysis Of PSNR at Various Segment Sizes for MPEG - 4 Traffic in NS - 2

چکیده
The performance of the Ad-Hoc networks is highly impacted with the Signal to Noise Ratio. The PSNR (Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) is an important parameter for the evaluation of multimedia traffic in Ad-Hoc Networks. With the increase of bandwidth of the channels, it becomes necessary to take care of other network parameters like PSNR and ASNR( Average Signal to Noise Ratio) .Enhanced bandwidth with higher channel error rates demand a careful analysis of signal to noise ratio for optimum performance. In this paper, we have evaluated the effect of fragmentation on PSNR for the MPEG-4 traffic in Ad-hoc Networks.

Prediction of MPEG-coded video source traffic using recurrent neural networks
Predicting traffic generated by multimedia sources is needed for effective dynamic bandwidth allocation and for multimedia quality-of-service (QoS) control strategies implemented at the network edges. The time-series representing frame or visual object plane (VOP) sizes of an MPEG-coded stream is extremely noisy, and it has very long-range time dependencies. This paper provides an approach for ...
متن کاملImpact of Various VoIP and Video Traffics to Performance of Aggregation with Fragment Retransmission (AFR) in WLAN
Agregation With Fragment Retransmision (AFR) is a frame transmission scheme that can improve the efficiency and the throughput of MAC layer in WLAN 802.11n. In this paper, we studied the performance of AFR scheme when various VoIP and video traffics transmitted over WLAN. The purpose of this work is to know how the number of connections, packet size and fragment size of VoIP and video traffics ...
متن کاملA New Unequal Error Protection Technique Based on the Mutual Information of the MPEG-4 Video Frames over Wireless Networks
The performance of video transmission over wireless channels is limited by the channel noise. Thus many error resilience tools have been incorporated into the MPEG-4 video compression method. In addition to these tools, the unequal error protection (UEP) technique has been proposed to protect the different parts in an MPEG-4 video packet with different channel coding rates based on the rate...
متن کاملCross-Layer Perceptual ARQ for Video Communications over 802.11e Wireless Networks
This work presents an application-level perceptual ARQ algorithm for video streaming over 802.11e wireless networks. A simple and effective formula is proposed to combine the perceptual and temporal importance of each packet into a single priority value, which is then used to drive the packet-selection process at each retransmission opportunity. Compared to the standard 802.11 MAC-layer ARQ sch...
متن کاملPerformance Analysis of a Split-Layer Multicast Mechanism with H.26L Video Coding Scheme
Support for video transmission is rapidly becoming a common requirement. Video coding schemes such as H.26L are combined with multilayer multicast protocols such as SPLIT to improve the quality of video received at the receiver. In this paper, we built a simulation system using a modified version of JVT (Joint Video Team) encoding / decoding software package and Network Simulator NS-2, to evalu...
